  • According to the most recent trademark filings, the largest tequila brand in the world intends to increase its presence in the Metaverse.

Jose Cuervo intends to dive into the virtual world

The most popular tequila in the world, Jose Cuervo, intends to continue investigating the Metaverse. The business has submitted a number of trademark registrations with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for interactive media characterized by non-fungible tokens (NFTs), virtual currency marketplaces, virtual restaurants and bars, virtual food, drinks, and apparel, as well as virtual distilleries, as per a tweet from trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis. Jose Cuervo announced in late March that it will launch the first distillery of its type in Decentraland, a 3D virtual reality driven by the Ethereum network. The initiative finally went online last week using Decentraland wearables and Jose Cuervo merchandise. For individuals who are of legal drinking age, the “metadistillery” also offers drink blending tasks as well as other interactive activities.

Cuervo’s Tequila is not the only one to register for a patent

In order to bring their distillery to the Metaverse, Jose Cuervo collaborated with a number of designers and digital marketing specialists. Additionally, users may discover further about blue agave, a plant whose components are crucial in the creation of tequila. The Aztecs revered and respected the plant’s leaves because they thought they were a thing of wonder. A fifth of the tequila drank worldwide is produced by the business, which continues to run the earliest distillery in Latin America. According to reports, venerable brewer Anheuser-Busch also submitted many patent applications pertaining to the Metaverse in April. This followed the firm’s late 2021 release of the first line of digital Bud Light beer cans.
